Durham Learn

Durham Learn (previously known as Adult Learning and Skills Service) have a number of courses available offering both classroom and distance learning, many of which are held at the centre.

Razzamataz

Razzamataz Durham is a theatre school offering exciting drama, dance and singing classes for boys and girls aged 2-18. The classes take place weekly in the Sjøvoll Centre and they are now enrolling!

Project Choice

Are you a young person, or know someone, aged 16-24 years, with Autism, Learning Disability or Difficulty, living in Durham or County Durham, who would like to learn skills to become more work ready? Project Choice held at the Sjøvoll Centre, is a Supported Internship Programme that can help.

They are ready to receive applications for people who are interested in Project Choice for the programme starting in September 2022.

Dunelm Flower Club

Dunelm Flower Club are booked in the Sjøvoll Centre on a monthly basis and offer an evening of flowers, fun and friendship.

Amanda is Chair of the Excel Academy Trust Board. Amanda became a parent governor in 2009 and has enjoyed several responsibilities across this time including being Chair of the Achievement and Standards committee, a member of the Excel Academy Audit committee, and most recently has been appointed as a Member of the Excel Academy Partnership. Her career started out with the Halifax Building Society where she worked as a mortgage advisor for 20 years, before entering the political arena. Amanda is a County Councillor for Durham County Council, representing Framwellgate and Newton Hall ward. Amanda was formerly a student at Framwellgate School Durham, where she met her husband and many other friends, as well as taking on the responsibility of being Deputy Head Girl. Amanda is passionate about the school and local area and is actively involved in the school at every opportunity.
