FSD played host this week to four postgraduate students who have completed their first degrees in China and are studying for a masters degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) which is a one year course at Durham University. They aim to teach English when they return to China. None of them had been to England before coming to Durham. Mrs Hale, Curriculum Leader of MFL, and Student Mentor, organised a programme for the day so that the students could experience a day in the life of a large secondary school. The students are being mentored by Dr Richard Bain at Hatfield College. They had a wonderful day, and were able to share with us the differences in the education systems between China and England. Thank you Mrs Hale for facilitating such a worthwhile day.
