Congratulations to Year 13 on a Wonderful Set of Results!
We are very pleased with the excellent A Level and other Level 3 qualifications achieved by our students this year. Our students have benefited from the personalised support we’re able to offer everyone. This means that the vast majority are now well placed to attend their destination of choice and move on to their next steps with confidence. We congratulate all of them for reaping the rewards of their hard work and look forward to hearing of their continued success.
2025 sees us reflecting on both the academic and personal achievements of the school’s Sixth Form students, underlining their hard work and determination. It also highlights the support of their families and the commitment and dedication of their teachers. As a school, we are delighted that so many students have achieved such a high level of success and are proud that those studying at Framwellgate achieve consistent success each year, allowing them to progress to their chosen destinations. Success is a personal thing and should always be seen in the context of the individual. We are proud of all their achievements—whether beginning a degree apprenticeship, taking a place on a highly competitive university course, or starting their first full-time employment. We support everyone to succeed on their own terms and are proud of each of our individual students today. They have done wonderfully well and have earned the right to celebrate.
Students have secured university places across the country—many choosing to stay here in the North East at places like Durham, Newcastle, and Northumbria, while others are taking the opportunity to move away, with a statistically large number heading to Sheffield. They are moving on to study a wide range of subjects, from Law to Physics, Sociology to Nursing, Mechanical Engineering to Pharmacology, and Cyber Security to Digital Media, Culture and Society. Additionally, a number of our students will be starting higher-level apprenticeships with companies such as BAM, in areas like Civil Engineering. Their diversity of success and destination matches their diversity of interests and passions.
Our values are rooted in excellence, and these results reflect that on a personal level for many of our students. The school also strives to offer the most to those who need the most, and we hope that all our students—when facing difficulties or struggles during their time with us—have received the support they needed to overcome any issue. We want all students to feel known and valued. For our Sixth Form students, this often takes the form of the excellent individual advice they receive from Mrs King, Mrs Moss, and Mrs Liddle, tailored to them and their specific pathways. These results also reflect the fact that so many of our students have been supported throughout their studies by their friends, families, and the school. These results are very much a product of collective endeavour.
Finally, we talk as a school about joy—and there are few things like seeing the joy and happiness on the faces of students as they open their results envelopes. That intensity of emotion, as they realise where all their hard work has taken them, is one of the very best things about being a teacher.
Our students have risen to the challenges set before them, and we wish them all the best as they begin the next stage of their education, training, or employment. Their results reflect their resilience, hard work, and determination, and we are immensely proud of all their achievements.
Whilst they are leaving us for their next steps, we will continue to offer support, as Framwellgate will always be their school—and they will always be our students. Congratulations again to all of Year 13 – it has been a pleasure to have you as part of our school community, and you deserve every success.
