Welcome To Fram Sixth Form

FSD is very proud of the sixth form provision, and year on year most students achieve the results they need to secure places at their first choice university. Many students also secure places at Russell Group Universities, which are world-class research intensive institutions delivering an outstanding education beyond school life. FSD has an excellent reputation for preparing students for life after school, not only through their daily education, but through outstanding care, guidance and support.

This page is dedicated to information about or sixth form provision, for both students and parents.

The Sixth Form Team

All of our Sixth Form students have access to dedicated members of staff who are there to support their learning and progression.

The Sixth Form Team is made up as follows:

  • Mrs Leeanne Mersh Roberts – Head of 6th Form
  • Mrs Steph King – Pastoral Manager
  • Mrs Carolyn Hammond/Mrs Jen Moss—Senior Guidance Manager 14-19
  • Mrs Debbie Spoor – Careers and Enterprise Co-ordinator

We also have a team of specialist Sixth Form Tutors who support students on a day to day basis.

Information for students

At Framwellgate School Durham, we strive to make sure all of our students make the right choices for them, but also that they receive first class advice, guidance and support throughout their time with us.

In order to allow students to make informed choices and to prepare themselves for the future we have created a learning environment that allows individuals to flourish. Our dedicated Sixth Form Team are always available to support students, while our advice, guidance and enrichment programmes provide everything you need to be successful in the future.

The Sixth Form Hub

Framwellgate School Durham cares for its Sixth Form students. The support and guidance they receive is second to none and the positive, learning culture of the Sixth Form Centre creates a real sense of community.

The Sixth Form Centre is a suite of recently refurbished facilities. First and foremost it is a place of learning. It is designed to support independent learning and act as a base for the Sixth Form pastoral team. It consists of:

  • A silent study area and computer suite
  • A social area
  • The Sixth Form Office
  • A quiet group study area
  • A café style study area/break and lunchtime facility

Guidance staff are always available to discuss students’ future aspirations and to ensure that they are both giving and getting the best from their studies.
